Bangladesh Computer Society is one of the leading professional organization to create Digital Bangladesh. Established in 1979, the society is a professional association of computer and information and communication technologists. Since its inception, the organization has been playing a significant role in computer and information and communication technology professional development, digitization and implementation of government e-governance. These members are integrally involved in the fourth industrial revolution i.e. digital revolution based on information technology. As a result of this revolution, multi-faceted possibilities will be created in the overall picture of the country and smart Bangladesh. It is already making successive improvements in information technology and is working to adapt itself to all the modern information technologies of the present world. At present, the society has a huge number of computer professional members who are tirelessly serving in the spread of information technology across the country. Digital Bangladesh Vision 2021 and Vision 2041 are being implemented by the members of this society under the overall guidance of the Honorable ICT Advisor to establish a knowledge-based society based on modern information technology and are working in exchange as per the Honorable Prime Minister's Smart Bangladesh Declaration. IT professionals are the keys for the knowledge-based society and they are definitely playing the highest role for accommodating the essence of emerging technology and hastening the arrival of prosperous Bangladesh through introducing e-economy. The members of this vibrant organization run ICT systems in all the government and non-government offices. They are driving the vision of Digital Bangladesh and playing significant roles in making Bangladesh poverty-free through introducing and enhancing ICT-based systems and infrastructures. The organization comprises of experts from all sectors including ICT professionals, academicians and government policy-makers. It is very urgent for all members of BCS to be active and united under the umbrella of BCS not only for the development of their professional future life but also for the development of the nation. BCS is ensuring better service for its members through gradually transforming its office as a paper-less and working for the professional development by organizing training, summit, workshops and so on. I wish all members of BCS would build themselves to lead future Bangladesh in the era of Industry 4.0 through the implementation of digital Bangladesh & Smart Bangladesh.
